Samsung Odyssey

Well it was a pita getting it through Saudi customs, but I've had it a week now and I have to say I'm very happy with it.

My 1080 is able to run it smoothly on VR high settings... any higher and it starts to stutter when I move the flight stick.

It is way more comfortable than people say - just push the nose fitting up to the top of my big nose and it sits there happily for hours!

Setup was a disaster, but a clean install of EVERYTHING and I was up and running.

FOV seems higher than the rift and vive.

Resolution is a noticeable bump up too but not so much that it is a game changer.

Headphones are fine.

Very comfortable to wear with glasses which is a nice surprise.

Tracking is great, no issues at all there.

Lenses give some fairly extreme god rays at times and need to be perfectly clean to keep this to a minimum.

Haven't bothered much with the controllers as I'm just using this for ED.

Overall... better than I'd expected. As a VR veteran I am not blown away, but I think I prefer playing ED with the Odyssey. I'll setup the rift again and compare to be sure.

Negatives

The Odyssey is bigger than the rift and heavier, though whilst playing seating this is not a problem as it is very comfortable if you are wearing it correctly.
Though the lenses are better overall than the rift, the god rays are annoying.
The touch controllers win without question but for ED this is an non issue.
The headphones on the rift are better but not massively.

Positives.

Tracking is great on the Odyssey despite what people say, not as good as the rift I guess, but not an issue.
The FOV on the Odyssey seems larger, with an acceptable sweet spot.
Colours are more vibrant than the rift, especially blacks.
The screen res is a nice bump up from the rift.
Performance takes a bit of a hit but my 1080 is doing fine.
SDE is about the same... you have to be looking for it IMO on both sets.
Works well with glasses.

Conclusion... won't go back to the rift for ED now, but for standing games the jury is still out.
