Sandbox and immortal animals

I'm curious - if the animals are set to never die in sandbox, do they stop ageing as adults, or do they just get hundreds of years old? If they are animals that have a sterility age, do they become sterile?

Yes, they become sterile, and then you get the option to send them to hospice. I haven't actually paid attention to whether they just indefinitely age though.

Oh boo. So not great forever for breeding, but you can keep ones you like around forever at least. Just have to be extra careful with males then, I guess.

So the ones that don't go sterile until death can keep breeding though, right?

Thanks for answering.

Yes, they keep adding years, although I don't know if there's a limit and then it stops counting, but I have lions which are 70 year old, for example. They become sterile, and the ones that don't become sterile can keep having babies forever.

I normally use this configuration because I don't like having to manage the exhibit animals. This way I don't need to worry about them, but I still manage the habitat animals (when they become sterile I replace them if I want to keep breeding)
