I was asking for the option to start with no research or genomes in sandbox since the first game and it never got added in. Doubt it will with this one. They've also got quite a few assets missing from sandbox too. Like the San Diego amphitheater, the bunker used in the JP3 chaos theory mode (it looks like the basic JW bunker but without those.... sails? fins? big white things on top, more functional and less aesthetic looking), the JW style arrival helipad I saw in a couple chaos theory scenarios. Not to mention EVERYTHING from the campaign. DFW buildings, vehichles, and guests.
It would be cool if they redid how we select certain sandbox options. Take the guests and weather for instance. I think it would be better for them both to have a list of each options with checkboxes so then you could decide what ones you wanted. Would be cool to see a park with JP and JW staff but no guests. Also mix matching the weather would be chaotically fun. I'm sure there's texturing limitations involved but imagine having your tropical park hit with a snowstorm calamity.
But I think the most annoying thing is simply not being able to just push out dinosaurs. Needing scientists in sandbox is lame. Having to sythesize before incubate is lame. I definitely like the JWE1 dino creation system a lot better. The only limit there was viability and cash on hand. This is JWE2 and not JWE1 and as such things will be different and yes I was frustrated at first, but enjoyed learning my way around these new systems in place and getting a feel for how the game works. But the process of actually making the dinosaurs in this one is a huge annoyance I'm simply not getting over anytime soon.
That being said, I do think it's a very beautiful game. I do appreciate all the effort that Frontier put into these two games (it's not like anyone else was doing it) so as a die hard JP fan, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I can't wait to see what sort of patches, tweaks, and expansions this one will have.
