I'd like to see these guys, too! They've been on my radar for awhile as one of the hooved animals I would love to have, along with desert bighorn sheep, scimitar oryx, and any species of mouse deer!

Give me an actual reason to why they should be in the game, especally after the first lines on wikipedia state, that they are not only super rare, critically endangerd, not even spotted once a year and die very quickly in captivity.
+ the animal doesnt even look that special.
Why should there be a yes to a pretty much non existent animal, especally when there are some good alternatives like the Anoa?

Love it. I would put the saola on a short list of critically endangered species I personally want in the game. It's rare, but has been kept in captivity. Not like a kouprey (another rare bovid from se asia that hasnt been sighted in decades).

I think the push back mostly comes from people not knowing what it is. Most people have a pretty below average understanding of animal species.

In my opinion that's why the arctic fox was so well recieved....it was a remedial animal choice. I feel like domestic pigs would have been well received by most people....but most people don't know what a saola is they just know what they learned in elementary school.

May i ask, why so rude?
The reasons for not wanting the saola are clear, i literally screenshotted the wikipedia article where it pretty much points out why it is an horrible inclusion.
+ being snarky and rude doesnt make you sound smarter, just like a

I wasn't talking about you.

I don't know many people who know what a saola is. Most people only know a limited amount of animals. That's my opinion.

I still think the biggest reason people don't want a saola is because they have never heard of it before.

I've never met you or spoken to you before, so I don't know what you have heard of....

I. Don't. Reccomend. Anoas. To. Myself.

I'll reccomend saola with its better alternative

But thats not an argument, is it?
We cant have a discussion without an actual reasoning besides that you want it.
I would rather want the anoa instead of the saola, but thats not an actual reasoning.
The reasoning is, that they are also an endangerd bovine species from southeast asia, the smallest wild bovine thats curently alive, have an actual representation in zoos and would add a tropical, dwarf, island bovid to the game, somethibg we do not have at the moment.
Also they are quite cute and can spread awareness for them and their conservation, because cute mini cow from sulawesi, which would also pair them well with the babirusa.
Also just look at them, they are adorable!

I'm of the opinion that it would be a wonderful addition, but not particularly likely.

If we're (supposedly, according to rumors) getting another 5 dlc packs, and no single dlc pack has included more than 7 habitat animals, that gives us a presumed maximum of 35 new animals.

Now, my own wishlist exceeds that number, I accept that not every animal I (or others) want in the game are going to be included.

So I wouldn't be mad if the game included the saola, but at the same time, there is a long list of common zoo animals not included yet, so I don't think it's likely to be added, especially since no zoo in the world has them.

I’d prefer the Anoa for the reasons stated by Konig but, TBH, neither are high on my most wanted list. If Jason is right and there are 5 packs left then I don’t personally think either species’ inclusion would be optimal, especially if some of the slots of those 5 packs were taken up with birds - maybe if we get 2 more years of support (9 more DLC)?

I wouldn’t hate the saola. I’d love it for biodiversity’s sake. But personally if given the choice between them and the anoa I’d do the anoa because they’re more popular in captivity. Granted I don’t just want animals that are popular in captivity but for this case specifically I feel the way I do.
