All,

Gotta a quick question. I was thinking about purchasing mid level Radeon R9 280X 3GB card to replace my old Nvidia GForce 650 ti.

I've been playing ED since the alpha and was wondering how this card will perform?

sweet thanks for the feedback. I just ordered it. My 650 Ti has held up well over the last couple of years. The 280x is at the right price point for me and I only use 2 1080p monitors so this should be fine.

You posted in the VR forum... Are you planning to run on a DK2, or just the 2 1080p monitors you mentioned?

I ran a 280x with my Oculus DK2, and it was acceptable at mostly low quality settings. I recently changed to a GTX 970 and it's MUCH more smooth even at high/ultra quality settings.

But, if you're only running monitors then the above advice should be good.

lol yeah i was wondering the same...how can these guys run Elite on high on a 260x in the DK2! :eek::D

These guys only see the thread because it pops up in the "new posts" section of the forum and they don't read which forum it was posted to. Every once in awhile like 5 people will show up and say they run everything on high on an Nvidia 780 in the VR forum lol
