Ships Saud Kruger as a ship brand

Even though they are well known for their luxury liners, I was wondering with the Thargoid threat if we might finally see Saud Kruger get into the multipurpose and fighter markets. Corporations normally see dollar signs and I would like to see FDev give Saud Kruger some love. Thoughts?

I don't know, maybe finally bring a variant of the retired presidential ship the Narwhal Liner to fruition. As it had upgraded defensive capabilities.

Saud kruger is basically Mercedes benz, big luxury cars, why would i want to ever possess à tank Mercedes benz ?

Well Porche made the Tiger tank. Plus many other companies that we have today have their roots back in various armoured fighting vehicles and aircraft!

+1 from me, give saud Kruger some teeth.

Porsche made *a* tiger tank, but the one we all know and love was made by Henschel. The Porsche one was crap and they repurposed the hulls as a tank destroyer known first as Ferdinand and later Elefant. ;)
So if Saud Kruger made a combat ship, it might not be a very good one. :)

And it's not really that the companies have roots in military vehicles, rather than them being forced into switching gears for military production by the government. Same as in the Soviet union where factories producing tractors were made to design and produce tanks. They did not actually start out producing weapons and military vehicles, but they already had the machines useful for that purpose, so it was easier to make them switch than start from scratch.

Didn't they make Engines for Aircraft during WW2?

They did indeed. Also:
  • Porsche designed and built tanks
  • General motors and Goodyear made fighter planes under licence, Goodyear improved the design and produced an improved version.
  • Mitsubishi designed and built planes for the Japanese Navy
  • Ford made heavy bombers under licence, and designed and built an airliner
  • Rolls Royce made aircraft engines (I think they might still be doing this)
  • Chrystler designed and built tanks (I can't remember if they still do)
  • FIAT designed and built planes for the Italian Air Force
  • Hyundai is currently involved in making fighters for the South Korean Air Force

Just because a company is known for doing one thing doesn't mean that they can't do other things. In many cases, it is a good idea to diversify, so if one market fails you can always work in other markets.

As for the Saud-Krueger FDL, when the Christmas paintjobs were up, the golden FDL skin was labeled as a Saud-Krueger ship....

Well, lore-wise Saud Kruger already build a paramilitary ship, which could be in the game for a while, but it was never implemented nor announced.

Some of you may remember the search for Starship One and the former federal president Jasmina Halsey?

The missing Starship One were a modified Narwhal Liner,an already modified version of the well known Beluga Liner, capable of dealing with much larger threads, even more specialized on protecting their passengers, than the more basic Beluga. Basically a Beluga Keelback or a Beluga10 Defender.

Imagine a Beluga without these massive heat issues, the shield capabilities of a ´Conda through an C7 shield gen., at least the hull of a Python, armed with 1Huge, 2Large, 2medium and 2small hardpoints, powered by a C8PP and a C8PD.

I don't know what you think about this, but I´d really like to see a ship like this (- my SK fanboy dreams) in game.
