I saw it somewhere on the internet.
I would expect CNN or BBC world to go into this much more than they do.
Instead they seem happy to endlessly repeat yesterdays news, or talk about Trump's countless blunders.

Been reading around this, trying to understand what it portends.

Looks like the Sunni-Shia conflict has been fueled by a giant American arms sale to one side. Ironically, it's the side that has been attacking them for years.
Qatar is sponsoring the Muslim Brotherhood. That group was just ejected from political power in Egypt, so it's unsurprising that their political opponents in Egypt have joined this move.

Thing are probably going to turn into a hot war instead of the proxy fight going on in Syria's corpse now. That means lots of human suffering, refugees, loss of wealth, and more terrorism. There's nothing good about this from my perspective.

From what I've read it's more about Qatars relatively good relations to Iran and the terror sponsoring stuff is just the scape goat. Although I wouldn't put it past them it seems pretty ironic that Saudi Arabia brings the accusations forth.

So what is the US going to do with it's air base there? The biggest in the ME and home to the regional command and control HQ?

Presumably he will, in line with his tough on these terror supporting states stance, be pulling the USAF out of this base. The one they stage and execute alot of their anti IS mission from.....

Bet he doesn't even know the US has a base there.

Al Udeid is also HQ for the entire Qatari Air Force, which it has CENTCOM and Army Corps to thank for both military construction projects and overall security that has benefitted the entire base. The air base is a deep investment for both Qatari and US Forces, it's unbelievably obtuse to suggest that recent relations between Qatar and their regional neighbors is going to cause a military divide among the two.
