With no context that remark's kinda hard to read, y'know (it was also Dollhouse, not Doll House).*** Points at "Doll House", giggles insanely and runs away shrieking ***
I watched Roseanne now and then back in the day, but obviously I never knew about Whedon at that point. I'm a huge Whedonite from Buffy onwards, though.Yep, even dating back to some of his writing on Roseanne (kind of hard to believe he wrote for that show).
Going back to your previous comment about wanting to play a Firefly version of ED; never thought about it, but it'd likely have one thing Elite's accused of not having a lot of, i.e. humanity, soul, and personality. The Alliance would - at least for me - make for a far more interesting superpower than the Federation or Empire. Smugglers would likely more often side with independents (or Browncoats), whereas the Alliance would be the perfect career for a military [and slightly fascistic] minded character, or a trader who wants to play it safe.
...and then there's Reavers out in the big black. ;-)
Yeah, a Firefly skinned ED would be something. That said, I've never really been that keen on the design of Serenity itself. It's a bold, recognisable design, sure, but I generally think it looks a little goofy or cheap (and not in the lived-in way the show 'verse celebrates). Love the interior, though, and the way the ship was used in the show and film.
