Some of the navigation routes the computer comes up with are quite involved. The route might be a long trade run I'm attempting. But as soon as you select anything else on the galaxy map to test another route out, you lose the route. (Yes, I've already gotten lost once having explored far afield and spent a lot of time on the map trying to figure out how to get back to home base.)
It would be nice to be able to save a navigation route. That said, the "bookmark star systems" suggestion would mitigate this; one could save a few key systems and use them as waypoints.
