Newcomer / Intro Saved 1,374,346 credits by parting out first.

I just upgrade to a Clipper from an Asp and wanted to share a little tip that has been passed down to me from other friendly CMDR's. I either sold the parts or downgraded(ones that can't be sold outright) before trading in my Asp and it saved me over a mil and a quarter :)

Hope this helps anyone else when deciding to trade in for another ship...

Definitely worth taking the time to do if you have lots of costly upgrades. If not, your outfitting time might not be worth the loss.

If you sell your ship as is, you take a 10% hit on all the modules you have fitted as you do upon selling the ship itself.

By selling/exchanging modules you get back the full price.
Must be true as I read it on the internet.

Um... this is the NEWCOMERS forum no ?
As an official newcomer I'd love to know what button do I press to get an Asp with 1374346 million credits worth of accessories?
to be fair you can apply this to the sidewinder and save 10% on the upgrades you got before moving to a bigger ship, so it is good advice for newbies

that said i prefer to keep all my ships so if i run out of cash for insurance on my big new shiny toy i can hop into a cheaper ship and get some credits without risking the loss of my big shiny toy.
