Saving in stations?

Hi,

Just a very quick question.

Are saves made automatically when you land on a station or do you have to save manually?

Saving is automatic when docking (I think) and when making SC and HS jumps, perhaps on more occasions as well.
Someone else can probably tell you more.

Thanks for the replies but I could do with a definitive answer if possible as to where and when saves take place.

from experience, saves do tend to take place when you perform a session change... so if you drop from SC or enter SC they will typically save progress.

I know this from being dropped a few times, one of them had me saying NOOOOOOOOO since i thought i had just lost all bounty progress. as luck would have it, i had been saved when i dropped out of SC at the station *phew!*
