Time is money as they say. Anybody have some tips to lower their turnaround times when trading and running between systems?
For instance, if you dock and click "Outfitting" or "Shipyard" you have to wait until the elevator takes you to the hangar before the interface becomes available. However, if you land and choose enter hanger first, you can then open up the spaceport services screen on the way down and already be checking the bulletin board, commodities screen, repairs, etc. while in transit. It only saves 10 or 15 seconds, but makes a big difference in the long run.
Another thing I like to do when approaching a station is boost immediately upon coming out of supercruise. I don't even think about it anymore. When boosting, by the time I have the comm screen open to request docking, I'm within 7.5KM and get permission (unless it's full.) Then a couple more boosts in a row to get to the slot as fast as possible.
Also with the release build, the screen select keys work with head tracking. Even though I can just look at a screen to pull something up, I use the buttons to call up the menus so I don't have to hold my head at a weird angle when accessing navigation or ship's status. It keeps me from accidentally glancing away before I select what I want.
What are your ways of shaving seconds from your runs?
