I spent sometime at the Xihe nav bounty hunting today and saw several other cmdrs, I messaged each but only one bothered to reply. Would be nice if more people interacted, and although had a superior ship I wasn't kill stealing or anything.

I find the chat system very awkward and if I'm not paying attention entirely, it takes me too long to reply before someone has already left the area. So if I was one of the folks who was unfriendly, please accept my apologies!!

It's also possible that people don't notice your message immediately. It's not as clear as it might be, perhaps a beep would help. I will chat if I see the message, but sometimes I see it too late.

Always say and usually get a hi back :) Got to say some CMDRS at Nav Beacons get a bit funny about sharing bounty's but not many. Anyone with a Doctor Who referenced name would get a "hi" from me :)

Cool beans, it's just nice to see other players and networking could be mutually beneficial when wings comes along.

Btw, I don't think I saw you Surly_Badger, may have missed you when a Conda decided to ram me while I was fiddling with my keyboard doh!

Comms are clunky and waste time, most people don't ever use them.
I wish it had 'system' channels not 'pilot to pilot' only comms, but more like a C.B., with open mic.
....and yes, Open would become 'Barrens Chat' no doubt.

I'll say "Hi" if I'm not too busy and can get through to it before you've gone (although since I'm in the remoter areas of inhabitable space at the moment it's not too likely I'll run into you). Chat needs a bit of streamlining really.

The viper was down around 50% but had shields up and he was taking a beating at 74%, I went down and gave it some beams and dropped its shields, he finished it off and presumably got the $8000cr bounty. Said "hi, just thought you would appreciate a hand". No response, left shortly after toward nearest station.

Need more cmdrs like yourself to help the noobs, rather than people sitting on landing pads shooting missiles!

Well, on 3-4 hours of playing I encounter maybe 2-3 players max... always hello'em too, mostly get an answer, but as the chat cuts on jump and other happenings, it's difficult!
Now very seldom, a conversation starts, whilst waiting to dock.... ^^

Well it's good to see people making an effort to network, especially with Wings things on the way. Hopefully the social aspect of the game will be developed to allow for an immersive experience, I know that 'In space no one can hear you scream' and all that but it'd be good to hear common spacelanes buzzing with chatter.
