SC stuttering in 1.03 is different, it is audio as well

I feel that the stutter that has recently returned, is different than the stutter we had before, because in 1.03, it is not only the video that is jumpy, but the engine noise is stuttering along with the graphical stutters.

So this is better for immersion. It feels as though the ship is stuttering, not your PC. Except that there's no option to repair it.

Of course it's still a bug.

I've got all sound cutting out a few seconds after arriving at stations... It lasts for a second or two.. then back to normal audio levels.

Weird. I haven't had audio problems, but my whole game tends to frame freeze for like 2-3 seconds when a planet draws in during supercruise.

Sound crackle problems appeared since Beta 2 and never went of :( It's graphic related, hope they'll sort it out! :)

I find even the jump countdown will skip the count at times and just say engaging. I don't know if we are ever going to get rid of the stuttering around planets or when jumping. I'm flying along at 140 fps when the stuttering is going on. It's very annoying and has been complained about all through Beta and Gamma. It doesn't appear to be at the top of the Dev's fix list. The sound problem crept in again after 1.03.

I have sound cut out in stations and stuttering when entering or leaving SC, and general a lot of sound interferences but only when I play in open mode.
Sound in solo mode is perfect for me.

It causes audio latency too. The sound crackles when it stutters.

I think the majority might be server related. If your fps is fine and it stutters, you either spiked or the connection is chugging.

Seems to me like the stuttering on approaching planets is as if more data is being loaded & the gaming is pausing waiting for it to come, just a guess anyway.

I've also had the sound stuttering (only) on entering hyperspace, when the countdown starts.

I had studdering when exiting warp with my nivida 670 top2 2gb , it went away when i use a nvidia 970 with 4gb .

So i checked how much vram this game use and near planet it can go around 2300mb vram wich choke my older 670 a few second after every jump, 4gb one it doesnt happen at all.

2560x1440 27" x2 screens.

I reported this to support from last night, a split-second of silence when disengaging to the station but today it has gone. I do have stutters in graphics though when in SC approaching station but think its the speed I now play and the planet size loading data on a server open play rather than solo mode. I also noticed that the updates get indexed in the background, e.g. the CVS file for Facetracknoir was flickering again in previous update as it did before I updated the CVS file.

Mine has started breaking up during combat. It seems especially bad in combat zones or nav points where there are a lot of ships. The multi cannons are especially bad. When it happens it sounds like the ship voice is lagging and slowing down like a bad Skype connection.
I still get stuttering around planets in supercruise. It has gotten a lot better but has never gone away completely since the early betas when I started.

I've noticed this as well. HS stuttered a lot in beta phases onward, but since 1.03 now the audio does it as well.

My frame rate goes down to 20fps in SC as well during open play. Never had it in solo, it always stayed above 60fps.

I also get more stuttering now than before, audio and video. I updated my nvidia experience thing and forced my 'optimum' resolution to some weird numbers that my screen couldn't understand, and turned off SLI. So that was nice.

There was an improvement once I'd set it back, but I'm still getting the old stuttering around plants and audio glitches.

What I meant in the OP is that the engine makes a whining noise: when the display stutters, the pitch of the engine noise going up (accelerating) or down (decelerating) takes a pause at the same time. A bit like the sound of an airplane in an old movie going down with a smoking engine.

It's quite annoying once you notice it and start paying close attention...
