Scan Megaships in Acquisition systems

I have been to many Aquisition systems and scanned at least 15 different megaships (I keep track of the names/systems).

Not a single one has counted for the weekly power play assignments. The systems are unoccupied and within range of fortified/stronghold systems.

Anyone else have this assignment and/or issue?

Yes I have.

I also came across a few that are traveling at about 1500 m/s. I drop in at them and even boosting can’t catch them (in a Mandalay with 560 m/s boost speed).

that's usually an issue of frame of reference when another large mass is nearby, like a station. It happens, not too sure what you can do about it.

I let it go for a few minutes u til it was 4-5 million meters away and super cruised to it. When I dropped out the second time, it was still moving extremely fast. I gave up and moved on to others. Still haven’t been able to get credit for the weekly.

I have two weeklies: scan megaships in reinforcement systems and scan in undermining systems. Scanning in either one of those (ship and then loglink) does nothing to progress those assignments.

What do you mean doubt?

Anyway; I was able to complete the weekly assignment eventually. I just went to Unoccupied systems that showed “scan data links” in the powerplay information window. It was a slow process jumping to each unoccupied system and searching for the megaships.

My only guess is making sure the power play information window shows “scan datalinks” as an option for local activities.

Yes, indeed if I scan in systems controlled by Arrisa Lavigni-Duval which all have "scan datalinks' as local activity I progress the 'scan in undermining' assignment. it's even somewhat fun to do - they are not super happy about me being there. However that makes assignment 'scan datalinks in reinforcement systems' uncompletable from my perspective as none of my power's reinforcement systems have that local activity.
