Scanner position

Hey, I've just upgraded to an Asp explorer, what a great ship. I notice one irritating thing though. I do a lot of exploring and when you go to the left menu and select an unexplored body, on my last ship I could still see the scanner that is positioned on the left of the dash in shot. so when i select an unknown object that is a pile of rocks I can see the image and move onto the next one until I see a planet.
I know i can look at the system map but looking at the left menu and finding the closest one is so much easier. Is there a way to bring that scanner into view? or is it the layout of the ship.

Also at the same time as upgrading, I updated to horizons, maybe it's a change here.

I know how you feel... use free view. Then you can see both screens at the same time.

And, as styleruk said, filter the asteroids off with the filters.

Have you tried increasing your field of view? You can edit it in your DisplaySettings.xml file in AppData\Local\__Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Options\Graphics

Tried the field of view and it's set to the max, though it does show a bit more it still does not show the scanner in view. Shame.

Hm, that's kinda weird.

Mine shows the Scanner activity when I'm in the left Ship Menu via hotkey (?)

I take it you might mean the HUD Symbol that displays the Body?
That might indeed not work with the in-game FOV limits.

You can mannually extend the FOV beyond what you can select in-game though and maximize it that way.
Requires manual editing of the configuration .xml File in the Game Folder, but it might do the trick.

You are right, I mean the little picture that shows you what kind of body it is. It speeds things up a little. I have my FOV full and it shows a little more than what you have. Interesting about the config file though, there's a few things I'd like to change. I am blessed with a 40" UHD monitor and would like to reduce the menu box sizes as they don't need to be that big. Maybe I can look at altering the FOV and a few other things as well...I shall investigate some more.
Thank you.

My last ship didn't have this problem, only on the new Asp.
