Scanning black holes?

I've just visited a black hole. I got near and it lets me use the surface scanner. I fire stuff at it but I get nothing. It indicates 0% scanned and infinite probe estimate or something. Is there a way to scan black holes?

Maybe if you fire enough probes into it, it'll get bigger and becomes a star, again. :D

You cant mapp suns...Black hole is in the sun category.Same is for neutrons...just they can return your probes with their cones and can mapp you ...successfully.

I think can find them using FSS. But I can't get them to 100% found like suns. Unless I just missed it. I did die and have to go back to a location. Maybe I lost the scan progress and didn't realize it and didn't rescan in fss as opposed to probing. I'll have to back and try.

I mean yeah that would do it I beleieve. Did you die before turning that data in?

You get Hawking radiation back. Then just decode the results. I leave the implementation as an exercise for the reader.
