scanning geological?

Hi, im having trouble scanning geological structures on planets and updating the codex.

Ive probed the planet and landed at geo site 1, found crystals and collected the resource but there is no option to target anything on the structures (fumeroles i think) to scan. IS it a differnt scanner i need to the SRV scanner?.

You don't target them at all actually. Just go up to one of the features and turn on your Composition Scanner and just scan the object. It took me a bit to figure that out too as I was trying to target the objects and didn't realize you can't...

Thanks khaos526, and i didnt realise i had one in my SRV as the scanner wasnt assigned in modules being a new addition ).

Yeah you have to add it to a fire group, that was another thing to remember to do...
