So you can scan outcrops/mesosiderites/metallic meteorites/whatever with your SRV's data link scanner.

...how's come that doesn't tell you what's in them, you have to blast them apart first?

I thought you were cheering for scanning activity, like, you know "Scanning ROCKS, man!"

The scanner isn't powerful enough to tell what's in a rock I guess. Even the ship's scanner can't tell what's in an asteroid. Maybe we need Mini prospector limpet launcher for SRV that takes 1 cargo space...? Not a bad idea, bit of added variety, but would that be really useful or just a gimmick?
