Scanning system for mission targets again?

Hi folks.

Has scanning missions completely changed, or do I have a bugged ship?

I jump into a system, do the scan, mission ships and bodies used to show up in the navigation panel. I realised the other day you shouldn't have to search for missions in the FSS, but none of missions are popping.

Have I missed something? I've played for quite a few hours, I kind of know what I'm doing. Most of the time!

I think this has been going on for a while.

It goes back to when they got rid of the disco' scanner and replaced it with the FSS.
People pointed out that the only way to reveal mission-targets was by scanning a nav-buoy, even though the mission descriptions still suggested mission-targets could be located either by scanning the nav-buoy or using a discovery scanner.

No idea if they changed the mission-text or changed the way the FSS works but, as a rule, I just arrive in a system, check my Nav HUD and if I can't see a mission-target on it I'll go and scan the nav-buoy.
Between them, those 2 operations will reveal the position of a target 99.9% of the time.

I've had a couple of occasions where a mission has taken me to an unpopulated system which doesn't have a nav-buoy and, thus, locating the target is impossible.
I dunno if those rare scenarios are still impossible to resolve or whether you can now manually FSS-scan a system and locate the mission-target.

+EDIT+

Or it could be that you've just got a POI filter enabled.

I've also been frustrated by that. Use my FSS only to find that it revealed nothing.

Nav beacon does the trick, though. So now I don't bother checking anything else first.
