- safe harbour: system at the edge of the bubble, with high security, and a starport close to entry point. there are some, and they are safe. refit your ship there for safety or sell your data there

- no missions, no powerplay, no high value cargo = close to zero interdictions

- besides iridium wing, explorer friendly groups like canonn and SEPP can wing up with you

i returned after 2.1. and sold my data at 7 places in the bubble without any problem. i had the luck of a fellow mod providing me with commodities you need for access to engineers - fraseer and martuk accept exploration data for "levelling" after initital access.

thats my plan hit a system with weapons and kit out the conda for a fight and head back to diaguandri or the like and cash in. i am glad i put some fairly decent shields on now.

I've just recently returned back and sold ~50 mil worth trip to Formidine rift. Spread the data among the two engineers and the rest went to Founders world. Unarmed, pathetically protected and slow AspX built for long jumps. No problems whatsoever... maybe I was lucky.

Going off topic for a bit, but I always wondered if it was possible to reach Elite Exploration without ever leaving the bubble.
