Scariest play yet...

I was trading in my good ol' Hauler when some pirates decided to interdict me.
I am good at avoiding interdictions, but he catched me anyway. Ok, i though, maybe i can outrun them.
(My hauler has no guns or shields to make room for cargo).
Coudn't run or fight, i had to do something.
In a turning fight I was able to "confuse" the pirate, he was spinning out of control, i boosted the hell out of there, but then, as the FSD was charging, he shoots me again, then all i saw was the message "Life support failure". Yep, he broke my canopy.

Got away, nearest outpost was 400 ls away. Got there, then I overshot. I arrived at the outpost, boosted, docked, and then i saw that my oxigen counter was still ticking, I pressed "Enter Hangar" 10 times while panicking.

I entered the hangar with 2 seconds of oxigen left.

The lesson?

Always upgrade your life support, always

That's a good idea, good post. I'm in the same ship with the same layout (I figure). 22T cargo space naked as a dog. I do have upgraded hull plating, but you've scared me into upping my life support soon as I get home. Cheers.

Do you have an 8 ton cargo bay? I can't seem to find those anywhere.

I lost oxygen right outside a station in my sidey, I have now upgraded to a better life support which would of saved me, so yes, I approve of this post!

Had a similar thing happen to me.

Got interdicted (NPC), seriously beat on me before I could FSD and lost most of my canopy.
Had enough time to supercruise to station but got interdicted again (another NPC).
I couldn't get out of the second interdiction as I coundn't see the escape vector on the now missing HUD!
Ran in a random direction.
FSD'ed out.
Dropped out too far away - again missing HUD realy ruins the day.
Those last few seconds of breath are quite scary, I realised my heart was thumping and found myself holding my breath (I was really immersed at this point).
