Scariest things you've seen?

I posted in another thread where I put my screenshots about an experience I had today, I'll include it here too.

What "scary" sights have you seen in the game? Things that made you pause and think, "wow, one mis-step here and I'd be in big trouble".

I flew down between two rings in SC (yes, that was crazy to do) but when I was flying down, one of the sets of rings seemed to be spinning backwards!
Once between the rings, I dropped out of SC, and I couldn't believe what I saw...the ring on the right was stationary as usual, but the inner ring on my left was rotating past me at a huge speed. I'm sure if I dared to fly close to it, the first rock to hit me would have put an early end to my exploration trip!

Unfortunately I didn't have (and still don't) any video screen capture software installed, so I couldn't take a high quality video, but I did grab my cellphone and take a short video with that. Sorry for the terrible quality etc, but I think you should be able to make out what's happening here...

Auto-navigation system made me encounter a black hole. The video is not mine, but this is what it looked like, nice gravitational lensing though. Sent shivers down my spine.

I was messing around with the map in the core and saw this. I have no idea what is going on with this black hole and I can't check it out myself but I've not seen anything else like it.

Wow - yeah, that looks impressive. I have been slightly disappointed with Black Holes in the game, from all the videos etc I've seen, they're not at all lethal - contrary to my expectations. It seems if you get too close you get an emergency stop, and that's it.

But yeah - if you don't know that I can imagine your heart is going to be in your throat the first time you encounter one...

Scariest thing I've seen in game? One bar left in my fuel gauge after a long journey of exploration and no fuel scoop.

I made it out to Maia in the Pleiades just last night and there's a black hole in the system, the first I've experienced in game. I crept closer and closer watching the star field distort and was so fascinated I failed to notice my heat level spiralling upwards rapidly. I finally got too close and dropped out at 157% heat and couldn't escape without turning all my subsystems off except the FSD without massively overheating as it spooled up. I thought my expedition was doomed at the finish line.

Has to be the type 9 that appeared in front of the toast rack for docking as I'd just hit boost inside the station in my asp.
Missed certain death by a couple of cms!

Supernova I guess. Apparently everyone in the galaxy should be able to see it when it happens... though it'll take X,XXX years for the folks at Sol to, depending on how far out you were...

Nice vid OP.

I can imagine in some alternate reality where 1700 Brits somehow managed to explore the stars, James Cook would have dubbed it, "God's Blender".
