Well, I got combat elite today. After killing 2,698 scavengers. Don't exactly think it's supposed to work like that, but I kind of enjoyed it. Almost all of my materials were acquired from or during scavenger hunt missions. It's rather effective. I also got my last settlement defence plan today, so that's how long it took for those to come together, but that's an entirely different issue. Any questions? I suppose I have some experience now with which I could help people out.

i think he forgot to photoshop the elite rank in the mercenary rank befor ehe umplaoded and did the post.
That's what I was saying. It's supposed to only add mercenary rank, but I got both. Not so much mercenary but quite some ship combat rank. Still took over two thousand kills.
It's been that way since Horizons. In theory you could reach combat elite just by shooting skimmers.
I got the entire way through deadly to elite just by ground combat (mix of scavs, settlement guards, other staff, some skimmers, the odd goliath and combat zones )

Yes.
Funny that some friends grinded last deadly percents out of EDH before EDO release and were killing scouts over weeks to be prepared, and now you kill a handful of scavs on some days to get your triple crest
Have no accurate numbers, and don't know what exactly counts into combat rank, but 382 scavs, 10 low Cz a handful of skimmers and around 2500 murders got me ~66% of deadly rank
