Scavengers and small carnivores, what's the point?

Small carnivores are supposed to cohabit with scavengers (compsonagtus), but if they end up killing them to eat them, what's the point? I mixed the coelolipsys with the herrerasaurus and the herrera killed the coelpsys. It's a bit of a contradiction, Frontier

Hey Dinomaniatic!

The dinosaur Cohabitation mechanic means that dinosaurs won't affect each others' Cohabitation meter if they Like each other. It doesn't mean some carnivores might try to eat the scavengers. Coelophysis should go great with T. rex and other bigger carnivores, however!

Like @Jens Erik said, the bigger carnivores pay them no mind, but smaller carnivores see them as snacks. I had a great enclosure with oviraptor, moros intrepidus, carnatorus, and allosaurus. The ones I wish could cohabitate better (therefore 'wasting' less space) are dimetrodon and therizinosaurus. Although the film portrays therizinosaurus as... evil... there's no real reason to think it wouldn't have gotten along (or at least not hated) certain other species. As far as dimetrodon, maybe I'm just used to the Carnivores games where they were sort of an afterthought that ran away from everything haha.
