3 issues keep popping up now that I've started actually trying to make an attractive zoo instead of just functional...
1. No where near enough recolourable items!
Today I had a gorgeous entry planned and I was soo hyped. I got going and thought I'd found the perfect door except it was just the wrong colour and the limestone frame looked really out of place. No stress right? Just grab another door... Except most of the doors that fit the spot and theme had the limestone, and none could be recoloured. Same issue with windows too! Being able to recolour things really let's us personalise our zoos that little but extra. And in real life... Almost anything can be painted
2. Signs and fonts.
The font options for signs are hard to read and on some signs, simply don't work. The adorable little A-frame sign, don't try fitting anything more than a few letters if you want it to be readable. It'd be nice if we had same simple standard boring fonts, and if there was an option to fit text over two lines on some signs like the little A-frame.
3. Incomplete sets.
So I made my rounded copper roof and was so pleased until I went to add corner trim. No rounded eaves or trim tat suited. Only right angle. Corrugated roofing also has the problem where the direction of the corrugation doesn't line up when using rounded corners. There's no rectangular plain limestone pillar only patterned. The slate roofing set, the finished A-frame piece (forgotten its actual name because I'm a numpty) has a gorgeous wood trim under the slate tiles. Single slanted pieces lack this, and there's no scenery that quite matches even when messing with recolouring. Small things that aren't a problem till you need them.
I beleive PaulsLey on YouTube has had similar grumbles with the font and incomplete sets. Though building custom pieces is enjoyable and a way around the set issue, it's not practical for anyone on an older it less powerful computer.
Not game breaking stuff, but it'll be game changing for those out there who really immerse themselves in the building design aspect of things.
