I'm having problems exchanging the FSDs in some old ships to SCO. In most ships it has been no problem. But specifically with the old Python and the Chieftain it always says "incompatible slot". I'm trying to install 5A SCOs, as it should be correct. I also tried swapping the old FSD to a default 5E first and then install the SCO, but that doesn't solve the problem. What am I missing?

Make sure you install same size SCO as the slot size, you can't install smaller sized SCO drives.
Yes, I tried the correct size class 5. Checked multiple times. In fact, all sizes show as incompatible.
are you doing this in a fleet carrier?
Update: I tried both ships. Its working for me. Setting: My own carrier. A class 5 FSD SCO (modified) drive stored. Python and Chieftain equipped with normal class 5 FSD drives.

Oh well. Then it's either my incompetence or a random bug.
there's a bug with fcs, they may show equipment available in purchase when in fact they do not, and the error you get is what you see. Go to a station and your problem will be solved.
yes, but there is also 5A, I just checked Chieftain on FC - everything is rearranged normally.
