Scoopable Stars

In my travels in ED during the last year I have found only four types of Stars to be fuel scoopable:-

Yellow
Yellow-orange
Orange
Yellow-white

Non-scoopable:-

Magenta
White

Am I correct?

There are a couple of acronyms for remembering which stars are scoopable, the one I use is KGB FOAM :)

edit: colour is not always a good indication, there are some TTauri that are Orange.

There's an acronym for this - "FOAM KGB" are the types of stars that are scoopable. (Look at the system map for the stars type).

There's another acronym that I always forget - "Kiss Me Girl Because... " then I forget the rest.

Go with FOAM KGB - you won't go far wrong. :)

*Edit* Ninja'd - but I still wanna know why this strange bird should kiss me...

Yep, first time I heard Kgb foam I never foget it.
Conjures up images of a Soviet spraying his fire extinguisher.

Galmap, target any star, info panel tells you main star type.
From brightest and hottest O B A F G M K after that they're not scoopable.
From colour any blue will do,white and yellow usually nice but not if it's a tauri.or white dwarf

KGB FOAM is just easier to remember and check

My preference is for the vastly more apposite: Fill My Bloody Kettle And GO!

Just have to remember both bits of "go" are capitalized. For some reason I always affect an Australian accent while reciting it, just sounds correct.

I've tried hundreds of times and have never managed to scoop up a single star of any type :/

Well... just wait for the A9 class scoop and whoop, the star's your. It utilizes brand new miniature blackhole gas vacuuming system.

The galaxy map filter is very neatly done to be able to filter out stars that you can't scoop from.

With that picture, anything "below M" is Bad Juice. I've never encountered a Carbon Star so far though... where to find one - have met about all other sorts of stars (and blackholes).

Aw.. You've gone and done it now :(

Tomorrow I will be mostly hunting Carbon stars :p

IIRC I saw a few every 500-1000lys closer towards the core. I didn't see them in any clusters, just one at a time generally. With all the filters off except the carbon one it can still take some time to find one. Good luck!
