Scooping cargo with an SRV too mainstream?

Got enough of having to land and deploy the SRV, scoop up stuff, return to ship, board it and then do it all again if needed?
Just don't leave your ship and use the scoop on that
Saves some time x)

Anyone else tried this?

Yes, we(exploration forum) found this out as soon as we got Horizons
In fact,on the Distant Worlds expedition there were commanders who didn't have SRVs,so others in SRVs went hunting for materials and once found the SRVless Cmdr would pick it up(for Jump range boost) !!!

I've done this a few times, doesn't work well with the bigger ships though, but it is easy with smaller ones.
