Scooping fuel

Are the Cargo Scoops dual purpose and work for fuel from gas giants and cool stars too?

If so, has this been implemented yet?

Hey Commander, scooping fuel hasnt been implemented yet but im sure it will come soon.

Good to know before burning up in an atmosphere or adding to the mass of heavy elements in a star

We have to be able to get close enough to consider ourselves in the atmosphere, and no planets I've sen yet have the mass lock indication missing.

Going by previous games, the fuel scoop is a specialist piece of equipment.

I might have read that it won't be a separate scoop, but it will be a modification to pump collected gas into the fuel tanks. So it's more of a piping refit.
