If you want to do this, be prepared to be determined! You need to have stamina, particularly as a new ED release WILL happen while you are out there and you have to fight the urge to explode yourself back to the bubble to try out the new things.
This journey took me nine months, playing most days. I generally hung around slightly above the galactic plane though there are immense areas where the stars thin out to the point that you can´t plot routes through them. In these areas I tried to keep just above the thin flat layer of unscoopables that undulates through the entire galaxy. My feeling here was that I would more likely be able to plot routes if the plotter could dip into the unscoopable layer if it was having trouble. There were still areas where I had to manually plot a route and sometimes where I had to make sure I arrived at places with very little fuel in order to leap to the next star.
If you do give it go, please let us know here as I would be interested to track your progress.
Thanks I will inform you. Right now I'm on my way to Jaques Station for the first time from there I plan to go to the Myoangooe Nebula with my wing. Afterwards I think I'm going to head to Beagle point and then loop my way around one of the outer edges back to the bubble. As for circumnavigating, not there yet, but maybe someday. I think a semi-circle is good to start
