Has anybody ever bought a house in Scotland? I'm moving up to Dundee and I need to get my house surveyed. I know the system is slightly different than in England so I'm just wondering if anyone has used these http://www.hdg.co.uk/regions/Dundee? Or do you have suggestions of other surveyors?

Check with your mortgage company, incase they have a list of prefered surveyors etc. Home Reports are still in Scotland, so most of the work is already done by the sellers. Happy House Buying.

I've bought a few, mainly due to being Scottish. As the previous post says ask either your mortgage provider or maybe one of the local estate agents if you can suffer speaking to the slippery rascals long enough. I've used a few different surveyors over the years and they are much of a suchness. As long as they are RICS approved they should be fine. As has also been said the homebuyers report takes care of most of it.
