Same as a fighter hangar but smaller and only available as a 2H module, which is used to store and manufacture a scout or SLS (Ship-Launched Scout). Scouts are very light and extremely fast, they are used for...well... scouting.
The main purpose of the scout is to quickly survey the terrain on planets, in space they are used for short range reconnaissance in potentially dangerous locations.
A scout has unlimited range over a planet's surface just like the SRV and in space it's range is about 40 km compared to a fighter's 30 km. Because of the small size, scouts don't have any hardpoints, shields or cargo space, they are extremely fragile too, but can reach speeds of around 950 m/s and a boost speed of little over 1130 m/s. It's biggest flaw is the limited amount of fuel which can only keep it flying for roughly 10 minutes before self destructing. So it's advised to dock it before running out of fuel.
The SLS is a dream coming true for the explorers who love to fly at high speeds close to the ground or through a newly discovered canyon without the risk of crashing their exploration ship.
