Screenshot triggered from HOTAS?

So, I did debate with myself whether I should post this here or over in the PC subforum - but since neither the forum (nor the mods 😜) seem to be as active as they were half a year ago, I'll try it here.

Short question: is there in the meantime a reasonably simple way to trigger an ED screenshot from a HOTAS? ED uses F10, unchangeable, and GeForce Experience only seems to recognize the regular keyboard. I don't want to add a full layer between the HOTAS and ED that would filter all input, as there's only one HOTAS combo I want to use to make that screenshot; everything else should stay as it is. And I don't want to use voice control (whatever kind) for this, as that would be much too slow.
Best I could come up with so far is to run AutoHotKey through a numpad I can just whack next to my throttle, but that still means I have to take my hand off the throttle.

I know, I could record the video and then take the picture from the video, but that's another level of personal effort and time I'd like to avoid.

Any hints?

To get around the bindings which are set in Elite, I assigned the F-10 key (low res) and the Alt-F10 key (hi-res) keys on the throttle to the small mouse axis (four way hat) which is not used or seen by Elite's binding (default bindings) and since it is a four way hat (mouse), I assigned F10 to the top position and the Alt-F10 to the bottom position.

"Assigned" - how? VJoy?

I could do that with my thrustmaster using it's programming software; any button or combo of buttons could be any keystroke. (or macro, for that matter)

Thrustmaster 16000. Ok, I'll dig up that Thrustmaster software.
I intended to use a combo - modifier button (on the throttle) and trigger (on the stick).

The thrustmaster TARGET software can map any keystroke to a button. If you aren't using it already, you would hopefully find it worth the setup as you'll be able to set really nice curves on your axis instead of linear response.

Thanks for all the tips - I think I'll try AutoHotKey first - a little bit of searching got me this from the AHK forum.
Although the TARGET scripting stuff, from their manual, looks suspiciously similar (ok, there is not much you can do to to make scripting much different), I just don't want to use it, as it does much more than I care for.

You made Autohotkey work? I gave up trying after four hours.

I've been using it during CGs to send out preconfigured roleplay messages (when playing an activist, in a Sidewinder, to protect the Manatees). Currently disabled, since one of my cats has the habit of using that numpad as a cushion 🐈

AHK is not that difficult.
I use AHK for some ED functions like docking request, honk and jump, change pips and more.
I am not a coding guy but if you want some advice, ask me.

I turned off GeForce Experience. It was messing with my TARGET script as well as intercepting the screenshot binding.
