Screenshots in poster size?

I remember Mr. Braben saying that the game can be upscaled for future better graphic. 4k-resolution is already there. I wonder if that would be enough to make posters from screenshots.

Does anybody know:

- Where I could let print a poster from a screenshot and if that would make sense with a 4k resolution?

- Whether Frontier offers even higher resolutions to take screenshots in?

And a question for Frontier:

Do you guys plan to sell posters with ingame screenshots, maybe even from some screenshot contests?

Alt F10 screens should be easily able to print A0 size i would think ... i have a photo print of that size that was made from a 12 megapixel DSLR. 4x 1920 res works out at around 33MP i think, so you should be god to go...

4 x 1920 x 1080 = 8,294,400 = approx 8.3MP
:)

If you have the necessary hardware to render the game in 4K, Alt+F10 will give you 15,360x8,640 screeshots (almost 133MP i.e. one hundred and thirty three megapixels).
There was an example in Newsletter 33.

If you have an nvidia with DSR you can run it in wild resolutions higher than you native lcd one and alt+F10 it. Will be freaking huge.

You need higher resolution than 4k to get high quality sharp posters.

So - run the game in 4k (use upscaling on your graphics card to expose the resolution in game)...then do a alt-F10 screenshot - the result with be a 16k image. :)

8MP is more like 3264x2448. Don't forget that both sides of the high res screenshot have been multiplied by 4, so you need to multiply your figure by 4 again.

Edit for the maths bit: (1920x4) x (1080x4) or 7680x4320 = 33177660 pixels.

7680x4320 should work out to ca. 161 dpi on an A0 landscape poster (1189 x 841 mm). Considering that 300 dpi is usually good enough for a handheld print product, 161 dpi for a poster (which you presumably don't get as close to) will work out.

Just realized i underestimated the size of A0; the photo print i made from a 12mp (4288x2848) image is 20x30 inches, which is rather smaller. Doesn't change anything though, you ought to be able to get a decent 20x30 inch print from a 6mp image.
