Why is this ok but clogging is not?
My opinion is that both are the same. What does the wider community think?
I think I am fine with it, FD decided to put a pointless no challanging grind into the game and when they can't even make proper mechanics of a consistent univers people can abuse the mechanics. No one gets hurt by this and no "skill" requirement is skipped. We are not talking about reducing the hardness of a boss battle, or a shortage to circumvent the battle vs mobs on the way to the boss. We just talk about shortcutting endless repetitive flights over planets with the hope to find a random placed asset that then with a small chance will grant you a random small chance for a specific item that ontop you will need for another random event granting you an upgrade.
this game is randomness hidden in randomness packaged in randomness. And I think in any healthy game design there just should be a border where randmness is doen too far. Not even most classical MMO(RPG)'S have so many layers of randomness.
btw I spent a total of 6 hours on palnets and have not yet seeven seen a sattelite crahs site. but laods of other assets multipel times. So that 30minutes to find oen is soemthign I already would describe as luck.
This genuinely depresses me. Everything we have to do in this game is exploitative. I really wish I could just play as I would like and stumble upon CIF and all that stuff naturally over the hundreds of hours. But instead they give abysmal rates to one of the most important data drops in the game and have every mod worth having use them. And I suppose they are surprised when borderline cheats like this come about. Can this please be a wakeup call? This game design is forcing people to resort to unsavoury tactics in order to achieve their goals.
year: 3303 detailed surface scanner, can even scan the % of material a planet is compsoed of, but cannot find crash sites that even google maps could see in 2014. And of course not even the composition of an asteroid right in front of you. Not is the game only filled with randomness it's also filled with HUGE logical gaps.
