Searchable "First Discovered by" Database

EDSM maintains a database of all system reported to it, but if you are just looking for your own system and want to browse them then install program that lets you search through your journal files, such as EDDiscovery, of course that does rely on you still having those journal files on your system.
There was the option to see 'Visited Stars' when I looked that data hasn't been maintained between Horizons & Odyssey.
The "visited stars cache" and journal files have been consistent between versions as far as I can tell. The "visited stars cache" is just a file that's updated each time you jump to a new system, it doesn't have any other info apart from that, the journals are what you want if you want to look up old system details and for that you need a program to read them, like EDDiscovery, that data isn't available in game except through the system map, there's no database to look up in game. The very earliest journals will not have as much detailed info as the latest ones, they have been extended a number of times with more information from the game.
That function for importing stars into the "visitedstarscache.dat hasn't worked for the better part of a year or more as far as I am aware, but that's not what the OP was after as far as I can tell.
The file is stored on your PC, did you get a new PC or re-install the game, or not back up doing a format or other activity that requires a backup?
I've never been able to import the early netlog files, from when the game launched, into EDSM. Even though whenever Iv changed laptops, I've kept every log file folder safe, for when I manage to do it, if ever I can.

I think that EDSM only recognises when you signed up to EDSM - thanks though.
