Hardware & Technical Searching for a Joystick or Hotas

Hey guys,
i plan to buy EliteDangerous in the next time, but I don't like to play it with keyboard or xbox pad. Something like a joystick is more what i imagine. But I don't know if I shouls buy a single Stick, a HOTAS or two sticks. I want to pay max 120€ / $133, much better would be ~50€ /$60

My first thought was a HOTAS, because I played ED on the Gamescom on this. It was a Saitek X52 Pro, which is completly over my budget ;) So I imagined the Saitek X52 (the normal version). An other option was the T.Flight Hotas X, because its much cheaper. The only games I will play with this Stick are ED and perhaps SW:Battlefront and I think for starting, the T.Flight should be good enough.

Or, would you advice me to buy something else then a HOTAS? Feel free to give me your advice:S

Greetings, JGartenzwerg

And sorry for my english ;)

For what its worth, I use a Speedlink Blackwidow.

It was not expensive, but has a nice action with plenty of buttons easily accessible.

I supplement my joystick with a 32 key USB numerical keypad, labels stuck over the keys.

Thanks for your replys.
I testet the Speedlink Blackwidow in my town but I didn't liked its ergonomic, so I am going to test the T.Flight.

This is the best thing you can do; the game has hammered home just how much a part personal preference plays in sticks. My own journey to the 'perfect' setup has involved buying a Logi 3d, then a TH X, then swapping between the two, then using Jcurves, then swapping back, then crying, swapping again, then ripping out internals of the TH Stick, swearing, then finding the Logitech tuning software, swearing some more, swapping some more...after a bit more swearing I found it!

What do I have? Doesn't matter, it probably wouldn't work for you.

The TH X is cheap and has a superb throttle, but doesn't have enough buttons (hence gutting the stick) and, imo, having used it for a few weeks the stick is a pig; it's heavy, it creaks. diagonals aren't smooth they're more like a gear shift (left then down) there's no secondary button under your thumb...in fact the buttons are foul...that being said, the TH X throttle alone is worth the cost.

My honest advice for a budget hotas is the TH X for the throttle, and any other stick that feels good for you.

Ok,
I'll try the T.Flight, and if i like the game and want a better stick, i'll additionaly buy the Logitech Extreme Pro 3D which my friend showed me. But I think for the start the T.Flight is enough.
Thanks for your feedback and a good sunday,
