Season 19 Squadron Results - Graphs and Analysis

On each graph, points are on the Y-axis, and squadron position on the leaderboard is on the X-axis. Both scales are logarithmic. The light grey line (diamond marker) is the numbers for the previous season, the dark grey line (triangle marker) is the numbers for the same season last year (season 3), and all stats are PC only. As in previous seasons, the approximate power-law distribution continues, allowing estimates of total activity to be made without spending too long reading the boards.
(Political is excluded, because there are well-known exploits to allow very high scores, and because it's not clear even without the exploits what it's supposed to be measuring: the in-game description of "large and happy faction" is clearly wrong - possibly this will change if they ever implement BGS happiness properly)

Anti Xeno (223 pages)
Winners: Marauders Vanguard with ~19% of all points. Lavigny's Legion and AXI.
Back up to more normal levels of AX combat than last season, so while Marauders Vanguard get their second gold, their share of the total is somewhat reduced. All three trophies won by regular winners this season.

Combat (2441 pages ... coincidentally, exactly the same as last season)
Winners: Winged Hussars with ~1% of all points. Kisel's Squadron and New Pilots Initiative take the other trophies.
While the number of participating squadrons is basically unchanged, activity is slightly down again on last season, for the quietest season since the combat rebalance and only slightly above the pre-rebalance record. Winged Hussars return to the trophy boards this season (and pick up another in Political as well), while Kisel's Squadron pick up one of their first trophies here.

CQC (82 pages)
Winners: We Rock You Roll with ~16% of all points. CQC Discord and Remlok Industries take the other places.
The Horizons/Odyssey instancing split continues to harm CQC, with the total activity setting a new record low. Remlok Industries pick up a Bronze to go with their Season 17 Silver ... but with these scores, there's opportunity for someone new to go for the Gold if they want it.

Exploration (2662 pages)
Winners: IGAU with ~2% of all points. The Stellar Cartographers Guild and Stellanebula Project take the other trophies.
As the graph shows, this Exploration season was basically identical to the last one in terms of distribution, and the same winner as well. Stellar Cartographers Guild pick up their first trophy.

Powerplay (84 pages)
Winners: Lavigny's Legion with ~13% of all points. Federal Liberal Command and Lupus Dei CMVI take the other trophies.
The incredible consistency of the overall Powerplay distribution continues with the third basically-identical season in a row. A bit of a shake-up in the trophies, though, as Lupus Dei CMVI get their first trophy on behalf of Zachary Hudson.

Trade (2287 pages)
Winners: Kisel's Squadron with ~2% of all points. Wild Priest Corps and Star Feat take the other trophies.
Quite a boost within the top 40 squadrons and especially the top 10 over last season, though lower down the leaderboard the patterns are much the same as before so the overall trade volume isn't changed much. Kisel's Squadron and Star Feat are both new entrants to the trade trophies, while Wild Priest Corps get a Silver to go with their Season 16 Bronze, in a complete shakeup of the top 3.

Other comments
The total number of active squadrons has a small decrease, with another 11 pages gone from the Exploration board this time. The activity level on all boards also remains below the long-term average, except Combat which continues marginally above it, and Powerplay which continues to hold up fairly well.

With no particularly large changes from last season otherwise there's not much to say here ... perhaps season 20 will have more variation.
 
It would be nice if fdev took a balance/fix pass to Seasons. Wrecking tharglets with dumb fire missiles should not earn you combat points is one example of why Seasons are broken.
 
"I'm going to ignore Political because it's such an exploitable mess."
And has no relevance to the true politics and in game BGS factions.

It all needs balance/fix pass for all not just Political.
