Season 6 PC Squadron results - graphs and analysis

Previously: Season 1, Season 2, Season 3, Season 4 and Season 5 (plus How large are squadrons?)
147937

On each graph, points are on the Y-axis, and squadron position on the leaderboard is on the X-axis. Both scales are logarithmic. The grey line is the numbers for the previous season, and all stats are PC only. As in previous seasons, the approximate power-law distribution continues, allowing estimates of total activity to be made without spending too long reading the boards.

Anti Xeno (108 pages)
Winners: Anti-Xeno Initiative (6th time) with ~18% of all points. Vampyr Ponys and Explorers of the Anarchy take the other trophies.
AXI continue to hold on to first place, after several mid-season changes of lead, extending their winning streak to 6 out of 6 golds. As predicted in the Season 5 report, the lack of Xenos to be Anti to has led to an overall drop in activity on this board, with slightly fewer squadrons participating at all, and a reduction in the score at all levels.

Combat (956 pages)
Winners: EG Pilots with ~1.5% of all points. Freelancers' Alliance and Anti-Xeno Initiative take the other trophies.
With the previous season being the quietest for Combat, it's not a surprise that this season is higher again. There's very little change in the top three, with EG Pilots and Freelancers' Alliance swapping places on Gold and Silver, while AXI take their third combat Bronze. Another 100 or so pages of squadrons are added to the board, too.

CQC (88 pages)
Winners: The Winged Hussars (2nd time) with ~15% of all points. Elite United Worlds and CQC Discord take the other trophies
A quieter season than the last, with Winged Hussars remaining on top with half their previous points. Elite United Worlds take their first CQC trophy. Overall activity is somewhat down, in the quietest CQC season yet.

Exploration (1070 pages)
Winners: The Winged Hussars with ~7% of all points. Dark Enterprise and Barrett's Privateers take the other trophies.
Distant Worlds is over, and all three trophies are taken by a non-DW squadron. The Winged Hussars score just over 50 billion points, the highest total of any squadron (though not the highest per-day, as four squadrons in the short season 2 scored over 25 billion) and enough to substantially distort the shape of the leaderboard graph in their competition with Dark Enterprise. Squadrons outside the top 20 are scoring similarly to season 5, but there's a lot more points scored in the top 10. As with the other generalist boards, another 100 pages have been added, taking the total number of active squadrons over 10,000 for the first time.

Powerplay (50 pages)
Winners: Federal Liberal Command (4th time) with ~13% of all points. Federal Republican Command and Aisling Wing Command take the other trophies.
Winters main squadron take a fourth gold and keep their 6 out of 6 streak for trophies. The top 3 are familiar - they were the same squadrons in the same order in Season 1. Total points scored are down across the board, making this the quietest season for a while.

Trade (1012 pages)
Winners: Dark Enterprise (2nd time) with ~1% of all points. Freelancers' Alliance and Anti Xeno Initiative take the other trophies.
Dark Enterprise and Freelancers' Alliance swap places at the top, while AXI make a grab for the Bronze, finding time aside from killing Thargoids to make money too. Overall there is a very substantial increase in trade activity, with season 5's winning score only being sufficient for 6th this time around. Total estimated activity is 20 quadrillion credits of trade profit - around twice that of the previous record held by season 1. (There are of course almost twice as many squadrons present as in season 1, so it may not represent so large a per-player increase on that season, but it certainly looks like profit is back in fashion).

Other comments
As with last time, the Winged Hussars and Anti Xeno Initiative continue to set and break records - Winged Hussars now hold five golds in separate categories (plus a spare CQC gold), while AXI keep their perfect run of AX golds, extend to three total categories, and on 12 total trophies have nearly twice as many as their nearest rival (Dark Enterprise on 7). Could we be looking at the champion-vs-champion match of the year soon? Or will they be content to divide the boards between them?

The Exploration trophies from Winged Hussars and Dark Enterprise also bring to an end the Exploration board's holdout as a board which has never been won by a faction also holding another category. Cross-category winners are now present on every board.

The upward trend in the number of active squadrons shows no sign of slowing down. With over 10,000 active squadrons in season 6 - and presumably a few more that were taking an extended break - this has been a very well-used feature overall - and hopefully therefore is on the roadmap for further developments from Frontier. (A "go to page" option on the squadron leaderboards would be nice)

That Exploration win was so last minute.. and it hit like a hammer. :D

We won CQC without really any effort this time.
