Second account query

I'm toying with the idea of buying a second while they are on sale but the question is can I buy it with my current store account or do I have to create new account?

I should explain that currently I have a lifetime pass account and that I will probably want to buy Horrizons for my second account. I fancy starting out from scratch on a planet but don't really want to undo a years worth of effort!

As I understand it you can only have one account per account, meaning if you want a second account you will need a second store/game account.

Every account needs to be tied to a different e-mail adress.

Other than that you can happily run multiple accounts from the same machine.

That's how i understand it, and that's how it works with other games that allow multi-accounting.

Better to have two completely separte accounts to avoid problems when trying to buy some paintjobs or whatever for the 2nd account... My 2 cents

This. I have three accounts and all have separate emails and logins for things like paint jobs, tech support, etc.

I've gone with two separate accounts on the store but thanks to all the advice.

Got Elite + Horizons and I'm looking forward to starting in a Sidewinder for the first time. Now what I'm hoping is that there is a choice of planets to start from. In an ideal world we could have free choice of where to start from.

I decided to get a second account at that price but I have to report that the start position was not given with any option just "Random federation station" - i.e. LHS 3447
