Second Alliance ship?

Basically, I'm seeing a lot of the same design language there. angular cockpit, upswept body form, downswept wings with wingtip swivel nacelles.
Could this be the Alliance answer to the Vulture?

Wasn't the Hunter just the concept art for the Imperial Fighter?

The second alliance ship is the Krait.

The Hunter I believe is Gutamaya.

I am sure the concept are for the Imperial Fighter appeared in an earlier newsletter than the Hunter
The one that had the idea of a motorbike like pilot position

I agree with the OP very similar
The Hunter certainly doesn't seem to fit Gutamaya design cues

Following on from this design language (assuming that's what this is), what looks can we expect from other Alliance ships?

Does the Taipan fit? Or will this potentially call for a dedicated Alliance SLF?

I personally hold out hope for a jet-fighter shaped answer to the Eagle and maybe even as powerful as a Viper 3. Forward swept wings and canard-like structure with thrusters within. Basically a spiritual successor to the Saker.

I thought the T10 was Alliance? If you have a rough analogy to other superpowers the Chief is dropship / clipper size, the T10 massive big 4 material leaving maybe a small courier sized fighter (since the Taipan is the Alliance small fighter?) to round out the lineup.

The Chieftain looks so ugly. -.- I still can't believe that Frontier introduces so many "whatever" ships in ED instead of well known ELITE ships. A lot of them are still missing!

I think we'll get 3-4 Alliance ships, like for the Feds/Imperials.

I'm not a fan of the chieftain design, but I appreciate them trying to do something "different".

Quite frankly it looks so different that it's like it's come from another game (erm.. THE other game, even)... Does not seem to fit the Elite styling at all...

The problem is, the classic ships tended to be hundreds of years old. It's as if mankind lost its imagination. Sure many people want a nostalgia trip but new stuff is good

Disagree entirely.

It looks like a Dropship, a Type 6 and 2 Clippers became one lol

I think it's great that we're finally moving away from designs based on 1984 vector graphics. The chieftain looks awesome to me. I can't wait to try it.

Where as I like the chieftain design and think it looks like a Lakon.

We do need the rest of the legacy ships, but I don't mind a mix being introduced until all the old ships are sorted.

Wouldn't expect the Moray Starboat until we have seas to land it in though.

Well it looks like a T6 with added tail and wings & boosters. The other one has a different cockpit but look very similar.

By the way, looks like the chieftain was designed with atmospheric landings in mind, much more space-plane-y than any other ship so far.

Most of the ships haven't followed the Classic 84 era design shapes. Only The Cobra, Sidewinder, Python and Asp are roughly the same as their 84 counterparts (with added greebling, fins etc.). All the rest are new designs with the exception of the Eagles which come from F:E2 (even the ones that share names such as the Viper, Adder or FdL are very different shapes to the originals).
