Second CMDR - did I just mess up?

I felt it might be fun to play with a second CMDR as I know a few people do. Basically I would like to see what it would be like starting over but with out loosing 8+weeks that I've played (that doesn't sound too bad until you realise it's 1300hours).

So I logged into my frontier account on the website and bought elite again. Just after I made the purchase I wondered if I should have created a new account.

Did I mess up?

Yes you will need 2 accounts but more importantly you bought the game again just so you could have 2 accounts?

You clearly have too much disposable income! lol

You need to play/buy from a different accoubt, tied to a different mail adress

The game just crashed on me while playing my normal Cmdr with an odd error message about accounts. I guess I'll have to ask for a refund next week or for it to be made a gift.

Support will move the purchase to another frontier account for you if you ask them in a ticket. (Big thanks to support for sorting me out when I did the same).

Nope. The saves are on the server side. One account, one commander at present.
