Second Hand Spaceship Sales

Sure this has been mentioned before but it would be great to be able to buy used spaceships...maybe some of the stations/outpost could have this facility. Copy of "Spaceship Trader" anyone? ;)

Not to mention the stains in the cockpits. Some Lakon ships have pretty dark stains on the metal railings, as if the previous pilot had been eviscerated (Leathery Eggs, you know ..) and they just mopped up the largest bits.

The ships you buy through the shipyard are second hand and the price includes your insurance.

So did my T9, but the stains were on the outside... It's not very maneuverable you see.

Ohh I see a new opportunity in this too make a quick buck.

I can already think of the type of characters that would drive a hard bargain!!! Just imagine the dialogue if you could haggle at a market in a station?:)

Seller: There are only 8 of these Cobras in the galaxy.
Buyer: Yeah?? I saw one of those down by Leesti the other day. It wasn't you was it? Are you a dealer? Do you have a past owner's list. Has the ship had it's regular maintenance? How are the capacitors, in good nick are they?

If there was an age to modules where they got less reliable with age which repairs would not fix (replacement would) then I could see selling off older ships second hand being viable and interesting, second hand ropey discounted fer de lance anyone?

Without this people may as well just buy a new ship.

If there was a morality system in the game , if you get the ship second handed it should give you the -1000 karma points...

As an explorer, after a few weeks in the void, certain things start taking lesser priority, if you know what I mean, I'm pretty sure that would negatively affect the resale value I could get for my Wanderbus, and let's be honest- the air fresheners don't smell anything like that new DBack fresh off the line in Wolf 406.
