Secondary weapon switch?

First of all, sincere thanks to Frontier for bringing this ridiculously ginormous game to we poor, "dumbed-down" console players.

Secondly, I currently have my dead sexy Viper with a Kill Warrant Scanner and a chaff launcher equipped. Can someone tell me how to switch back and forth between secondary weapons most efficiently? Do I need to go to the panel every time?

default controls I believe is hold X and press LB or RB.

I keep my scanners on a secondary firegroup so after assigning them a trigger all I have to do is tap A to go between them and my guns and my Utility Hardpoints.

No need to go to the panel, just tap A to cycle through firegroups.

Edit to add: I use the Classic Control setup.
