Secret settlement data... what? How?

Hi everyone.

PP2 weekly mission asks me to retrieve "secret settlement data". (Translated back from German. I don't know the exact English term.)

I went to a settlement in what I consider an acquisition system (i.e. my power wants it but doesn't control it yet), downloaded ALL THE DATAZ from terminals, got into trouble but escaped with some stolen mats and the data, handed it in in a nearby controlled system in range (blue lines connect both systems in galaxy map PP view) - aaaaaaand... nothing.

What kind of data do I have to steal?

There's some secret data, some useless data. It didn't count. Maybe it wasn't PP-specific. Maybe it wasn't secret enough.

The data mentioned is "classified data" - does that mean it has to be labeled "classified" (i.e. it's a very specific type of data) or just that is has to be classified (i.e. any kind of secret data will do)?

Was the Acquisition system in range of the nearest Fortified/Stronghold system? If not, there is a bug that sometimes no loot spawns in settlements outside of Powerplay. Could be this.

Alternatively you were just unlucky with RNG.

Also, can you post a screenshot of the weekly mission description please? (In English would be preferable). It often tells you exactly where to go to get the stuff.

This is correct. There are five types of Power data - in the English translation, these are "Power Classified Data", "Power Association Data", "Power Political Data", "Power Research Data" and "Power Industrial Data" which are all separate types. If an assignment wants Power Classified Data, it wants exactly that type, not the other four.

It's possible that different types of data port are more likely to have different types of Power data (just as they have different types of Engineering data) but I haven't checked enough of them to test that.


It sounds from the "blue lines" and the fact that you could hand it in at all that you were taking the data from the right place to the right place - just not the right type of data this time.
