Newcomer / Intro Security at RES in Anarchy?

Police attack when u kill too many of their faction buddies regardless if they are or you are wanted or not. It is in game since gamma. Aggro is correct. Explains them fighting each other as well.

Police are not neutral!!! They have a side on the game like built in bias.

I'm neutral or friendly with every in-system faction so I'm not sure that's it. If that were the case, they wouldn't turn the FIRST time you attacked someone.

They do. They just attack, you can test this at a nav point. Kill a few of one faction and the cops from that faction will attack. You will not be wanted or have a fine but if you shoot back you will. You can be allied and this will happen eventually.

As I said above, Authority vessels attack once you hit a clean ship. In an anarchy system, there is no such thing as a wanted ship, so every ship you attack is always clean. No wonder they attack you after your first shot on any target.

It's a feature of the engine not working as intended.

Okay, so it sounds like the consensus is that this is a bug and is not working as intended? I'll submit a ticket when I get home tonight.

Maybe I'll get some creds back! That would be nice. :)

I have been having exactly this same experience... In fact that's how I found this thread. I was searching to try to figure out what's going on.

okay, now this is weird, because if there are authority vessels in the area AND they start shooting at you once you hit a ship, that means that your system isn't an Anarchy.

Please could you check the system status in your right panel if any section have more than 50 percents?
Because that would effectively mean that the system is no longer an Anarchy.

I had a chat with someone, here, few days ago, who was getting Empire wanted status in supposedly anarchy system in the middle of the federal space. What we found out was that one of the factions allied with empire recently gained majority and was now ruling the system. It still showed "anarchy" on map that day, but was empire red the next day when I logged on, again.

The imperials are crashing in on our piracy.

Experiencing the same issue (that's how I found the post, btw).
I am in Naitis, Anarchy system ruled by a mafia faction.
At RES, no matter if I shoot at a ship of a different faction, Security Authority Vessels will start shooting at me. No bounty gained (as the system is anarchic), but this is quite annoying.
Unless, RES and NAVs are different, RES being points of strategical/economical importance and - although the system is anarchic - there is an actual interest of the leading faction to keep things calm and cool and allow miners to do their job?
just my two cents...
