Horizons Security Generators respawn?!?

I was raiding a large base hoping to find Cracked Industrial Firmware, by scanning all (six) datapoints; and blew up the generator in order to bring down the energy barriers so I could find the rest (hard without any overhead map & bookmark system). I was pretty surprised to find the barriers came up again about 1 minute later, in spite of the generator being destroyed. That's some repair crew!

But it makes exploring the base to find the data points really painful: Blow up generator, rush through barrier, try to find next data-point, take wrong turn. Jump down, blow up generator again, rush through barrier again, take wrong turn again........

Is this intentional? Do all the security generators respawn so quickly? Or is this a bug?

1) They do respawn (repaired?), and as far as I understand this is an intentional behavior. "Reparation" time however depends on particular base variation/type (and generator's function).
2) Most of the "barriers" are far easier to pass by jumping above or at the side, or finding other way around (if gravity let you do this).
3) Maps and "know-how"'s can be found in CIF/MEF threads in the Engineers forum branch (ok, maps are in my signature).
