Security Guards

So, I'm having a bit of an issue with the security guards... Why are the male guards muscular while the female guards look more... plump? I personally don't think it's okey that they look so different. Both genders should be muscular, or none at all. It's very sexist.

While I know what you mean, I doubt anyone on the team was trying to be sexist. I do agree that it is a bit odd, and find it strange none of the guests or staff except for male security guards have any evidence of muscle. However, I think that it's not a huge priority, but I'd still like to see the opinions of others about this.

I don't pay close enough attention to the security guards to think that this is at all a problem. I think using the word "sexist" to describe this difference in CG model is a little extreme. I also think there are vastly more important aspects of the game which require looking into.
I am of a similar opinion. Words like "sexist" shouldn't be tossed around over little things. Sexism, along with any discrimination, is a big issue, and the term should not be used over a minor thing like that, plus it's unfair to say this to the devs, who weren't trying to do this. And like you pointed out, there are much bigger issues in the game. The human models look okay, but very cartoonish, and the weird looking eyes and eyebrows make me uninterested in spending much time observing them.

I don't really care about the evidence of muscle per se, it's more the difference in bodies that I find really annoying. I never said they were trying to be sexist to be mean, I really don't think they thought about it (hope not), I'm not expressing this in an angry way, but it is something that has been bothering me.

Yes ofc, this is really minor, but shouldn't players be able to voice their opinions about everything and not just major things? I'm not throwing hate, if you think it's extreme then fine, I do love this game and I want it to always get better, but I've never been 100% okey with that aspect so I'm voicing my opinion about it.

Your opinion is fine, but as Indoraptor said, using the term sexist to describe cartoon character differences in a game makes that term lose its impact in more serious situations. Words are important and should be chosen carefully.

Ok let's not police what others express yeah?
I vote for plump and muscly security guards ("male" and "female") in future Planet games if it can't be addressed in an update.

Best option, I think! Because some people who are physically powerful/intimidating-looking are jacked in the way the current male security guards are, but some also stocky and solid like the current female security guards. So they could do both for both! :D

Well, the thing with opinions is that yours is as valid as mine. You think it's an issue, and you are allowed to think that, and you are allowed to compaign for it to be changed, whereas I do not think it is an issue, and likewise I'm allowed to think that. As for campaigning, for me it's pure apathy. I wouldn't be bothered either way. If they change it because they think you are right, then great, but if they don't, then no skin off my nose.

Nobody's "policing" anything. I don't even know why you would think that. Bellissimo is perfectly free to express his or her desire for change here, but because this is an open discussion board everyone else is perfectly free to say how they feel about the subject (within respectful reason). I don't begrudge Bellissimo for thinking the security guards in-game are skewed in favour of men, but I don't agree that the term "sexist" is valid here, mostly because it implies intent.

Yes, words are important, but if this is how I feel then you can't tell me I'm wrong. That in itself is wrong.

But you are policing? I started this thread, and if you care so little about it, then why even comment? You said so yourself, that you don't even care. So go find a thread that you care about and that will be that. And I'm sure you'll be happier doing that. I'm just hoping someone from the dev team can see this and think about it.

I do not think they tried to make any statement by those differences. If I recall it correctly was in Planet Coaster only males the security guards? So they probably did not have a female buffed model and the slim female model of the quests was probably just looking too thin for a security guard so they went with the plump one. They could have create a new model, but I guess they decided to spend the time on other things.

But I doubt they meant it in a sexist way, since both male and female NPC can be security guards now, same with mechanics. :)

I never played Planet Coaster, so I don't know about that. You have a valid point, but still tho, I want them to think about both sides you know:)

This is a discussion board. If you don't want people to discuss your topic then what you're looking for is an echo chamber. Unfortunately it seems that not everyone here agrees with your worldview. That isn't policing, it's free expression of opinion. Trying to tell people who don't automatically agree with you to go somewhere else is in fact the very definition of "policing".

I am happy to hear people's opinion, no matter if they agree or not. If someone can make me change how I view this, then I'm all for it. But I don't wanna hear people say " I don't care". Like you did.

How about the muscles of security guards (male and female) grow stronger with each level of training? This would make sense for me.
I think with the size of the muscles should not be exaggerated. The male security guard is certainly a bit overdrawn.
