Security Response Times

Just some thoughts...

I thought, it would be kinda cool to have security response times visible somewhere in the HUD or panels, and have it change dynamically as you travel around in system.
For example, security would respond quicker to anything near any ports, occupied planets, checkpoints, shipping lanes etc, but slower for anything further off the "beaten track" as it were.

High security systems should have, when close to a secure body, an almost instant response time. Where as low security would take quite some time, even near major bodies. There would be a few seconds variance in the response time, so it's not an exact ETA.

This would help all CMDRs, from traders, to pirates, to plain old murderers, guage how safe they are within a system, or how long they need to hold out for until help arrives, how long they have to grab the loot and be gone or finish of their target.

It could also open up gameplay opportunities, by luring CMDRs and NPC's closer or further from rapid response areas.

Resources Extraction Site difficulty could also be then based on their position to the nearest secure body, aswell as system security level.
If it's got a station nearby, in a high security system, those RESs will all be low RES.
If it's a low security system, and the RES is 1000ls from a port, then they'll be HAZ or High RESs, or something along those lines.

It could also be used to add even more dangerous and safe RES sites, and then simply name them after the estimated security response time, so instead of Hazardous RES. It could say "Resources Extraction Site", then you need to passively scan it, like an USS. Then it will say;
"Resources Extraction Site
Security Response: None, Very Low, Low, Medium, High, or Very High"
Or be a number, which would roughly translate to seconds, and how safe it is, so N/A is never (Aka, most dangerous RES), then the numbers can come down in many many grades down to 0, which is instant, which is the safest.

Thoughts?

Frak my days, CSH, you are full of good ideas, old chap!

I certainly like this one. I'd add emphasising whatever indicator might be chosen with colour and alert-size, so you get a big, bright red Danger, Will Robinson! Danger! whenever you stray too far off the beaten path. :)
